Hamburg/Munich, October 13, 2026 – Freshly cooked meals around the clock, independent of traditional kitchen opening hours: Hamburg-based food-tech company goodBytz is bringing its autonomous kitchen technology to a gas station for the first time. Together with Munich-based family business Allguth, the company has introduced the new GUTH FOODS food service concept at the Allguth station on Chiemgaustraße. At its heart is Munich’s first publicly accessible cooking robot, which prepares hot meals fully autonomously and freshly to order.

For goodBytz, the new location marks another step toward establishing autonomous kitchens as scalable infrastructure. Following deployments in companies, hospitals, universities, train stations, and the defense sector, the company is now entering the gas station market. Particularly at high-traffic locations with extended operating hours and fluctuating demand, autonomous kitchens can help close a significant gap in food availability.

“The food service industry faces the challenge of meeting rising expectations for quality, speed, and availability simultaneously,” says Dr. Hendrik Susemihl, Co-Founder and CEO of goodBytz. “Together with Allguth, we are bringing our technology to a gas station for the first time, opening up an entirely new application for autonomous food service. Our goal is to establish autonomous kitchens as scalable infrastructure that makes freshly prepared meals available around the clock, including in locations where traditional food service concepts reach their limits.”

Freshly Cooked in Five Minutes – Around the Clock

The robotic kitchen at the Allguth station on Chiemgaustraße in Munich has been operating since September. Under the new GUTH FOODS brand, customers can order freshly prepared meals 24/7. The menu includes dishes such as Käsespätzle (German cheese noodles), Tom Kha Gai, and a variety of pasta and rice dishes. Meals are ready for pickup approximately five minutes after ordering, with all dishes initially priced at €9.90.

The entire cooking process is fully automated and visible to customers through a large glass front. Two robotic arms carry out the individual cooking steps, precisely dispense ingredients according to predefined recipes, and manage the preparation process. The system can cook up to eight meals simultaneously, with a maximum capacity of 120 meals per hour under optimal conditions.

Refrigeration, cooking stations, and cleaning technology are integrated into one compact system. After each preparation cycle, the cooking vessels are automatically cleaned and made ready for the next orders.

The station team is responsible for preparing and replenishing ingredients, quality control, cleaning procedures, and supporting customers. Before the launch, goodBytz provided several days of training to ensure smooth integration into daily operations.

Gas Stations as a New Market for Autonomous Food Service

The deployment at Allguth demonstrates the potential of autonomous kitchens beyond traditional restaurant concepts. Gas stations are increasingly evolving into service hubs that combine mobility, retail, and food service. At the same time, extended opening hours, fluctuating customer traffic, and demand outside conventional mealtimes create particular challenges for food service operators.

The Allguth station on Chiemgaustraße welcomes approximately 2,500 customers per day and operates 24/7. Initial operating experience indicates particularly strong demand for hot meals during evening and nighttime hours. Customers include shift workers and professionals finishing work late.

For Allguth, integrating the robotic kitchen is part of its broader strategy to expand and develop its food service offering. The Munich-based family business operates 29 locations in and around Munich, serving approximately 40,000 customers every day.

“Our station operators and their teams know their customers and understand what is needed at each location,” says Markus Erbrich, Head of Convenience and Partner Development at Allguth GmbH. “With GUTH FOODS, we are further developing our culinary offering under one shared brand. The cooking robot is the first building block. It extends the availability of hot, freshly prepared meals throughout the day and night while making the cooking process visible to customers.”

Autonomous Kitchens Are Becoming Part of Everyday Infrastructure

The collaboration between goodBytz and Allguth goes beyond simply installing a cooking robot. Both companies worked closely together to develop the menu, technical processes, and integration of the robotic kitchen into daily station operations.

The location also serves as a starting point for the further development of the GUTH FOODS food service concept. Insights from daily operations, customer feedback, and the experience of the station team will continuously feed into the optimization of recipes, menu offerings, and operational processes.

For goodBytz, this latest deployment highlights the versatility of its technology. Whether at transportation hubs, corporate locations, healthcare facilities, or now gas stations, autonomous kitchens can enable new food service offerings wherever people need access to fresh meals, regardless of the time of day or staffing availability.

The broader vision is to make freshly prepared food less dependent on traditional kitchen infrastructure and instead make it available wherever demand exists through intelligent, autonomous systems.
